FEATURES: A particularly attractive example of the Peru 2012–13 away shirt, produced by Umbro during the 2014 World Cup qualifying cycle. Contemporary references identify the 2012 away design as a red Umbro shirt with a polo-style collar, white front placket detail and the FPF crest, matching the construction seen here.
This example is finished with Paolo Guerrero’s #9 personalization, featuring his surname across the shoulders and the large outlined #9 on the reverse.
The shirt also has several excellent Peru-specific details that are easy to overlook—the map of Peru beneath the rear collar, FPF emblem embedded into the rear numeral, FPF 004884 internal identification label, and Tailored by Umbro embroidery. Overall, it is a very clean and distinctly early-2010s Umbro interpretation of Peru's away colors.
COMMENTS: Guerrero was one of the central figures of this Peru generation alongside players such as Jefferson Farfán, Claudio Pizarro, Juan Manuel Vargas and Carlos Zambrano.
