FEATURES: The shirt uses the classic Oranje orange base covered by an elaborate darker-orange sublimated geometric pattern. Rather than conventional stripes, the graphic combines overlapping blocks, checkerboard sections and groups of parallel lines running in multiple directions, giving the material the unmistakable early-'90s Lotto aesthetic. A large white fold-over polo collar incorporates thin red and royal-blue stripes, while the deep overlapping white V-neck insert continues the contrast into the chest. This example is the especially attractive long-sleeve version, finished with broad white stretch-knit cuffs. The chest carries a white Lotto diamond and wordmark opposite the Netherlands' white KNVB lion crest. Both are applied directly onto the orange patterned material rather than using modern sewn-on shield badges. Very good vintage condition overall, with a small body pull, localized internal seam/tape deterioration, and some age-related discoloration to the white cuffs. Slight signs of wear on the collar, neck area, and sleeve ribbing, slight pilling on the body. Scattered threads on the chest, abdomen, and sleeves all small, dot-like spots. Nothing particularly large.
COMMENTS: One of the defining Netherlands shirts of the early 1990s, this Lotto home design was introduced for UEFA Euro 1992 and continued into the following period. Contemporary examples confirm the orange Lotto design, including Van Basten #9 versions, and the Netherlands wore the shirt during their run to the Euro ’92 semifinals.
